Tour Description
Are you looking for an adventure-filled day trip that combines visits to Iceland’s famous wonders with an afternoon snowmobiling on a massive glacier? This tour has it all. You can experience the nature of Iceland while driving in a specially designed Super Truck!
Your unforgettable adventure begins when we pick you up from Reykjavik. We’ll make our way towards the famous Golden Circle, where you’ll visit some of the most incredible natural sites in Iceland.
We’ll stop at Thingvellir National Park, Geysir Hot Spring area, and Gullfoss Waterfall. Each of these places is an important landmark in Iceland. Your guide will tell you all about their history and natural features.
While visiting the Golden Circle, we’ll stop at a cozy cafe near the Geysir geothermal area. Here you can buy food (not included) or eat your prepacked lunch.
After lunch, we’ll drive to Langjokull Glacier, the second-largest ice cap in Iceland. This is where our snowmobiling tour begins! Get ready for an hour on the unspoiled ice and snow of the snowmobile trails.
The Golden Circle
The most iconic sightseeing route in Iceland, the Golden Circle, takes you on a tour of the country’s most important natural and historic sights. You’ll see the highlights of the Golden Circle on this sightseeing tour!
Thingvellir (Þingvellir) National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located between two tectonic plates that slowly drift apart, the park is also important in Iceland’s history and culture. The first democratic parliament in Iceland, Alþingi, was founded in Thingvellir in 930 CE. Silfra fissure, a world-famous snorkeling and diving site filled with crystal clear glacial water, is also in the area.
Geysir Geothermal Area is home to Stokkur, a spouting geyser that shoots hot water high up into the air every 5-10 minutes! The water leaps up as high as 25 meters (82 ft), so hold your camera tight and snap a picture of this unbelievable sight.
On this tour, you’ll also visit Gullfoss Waterfall (“the Golden Falls”). The water runs through a wide canyon before it plunges down 32 meters (105 ft) in two sections. The powerful waterfall lays on the Hvítá River, which originates at Langjokull Glacier. Filled with glacial water, the river reflects mesmerizing shades of blue. Don’t be tricked by the tropical colors — the water here is quite chilly!
Langjökull Glacier
Once we arrive at Langjokull Glacier (“the Long Glacier”), the guide will tell you everything you need to know about operating the snowmobiles. You’ll learn how to drive the snowmobile and the guide will share tips and tricks for the best experience. You’ll receive all the necessary gear and prepare to conquer the glacier!
The glacier is covered in massive volcanic craters filled with ice. Explore the crater lakes as you drive past them and look around to see the peaks of the Kerlingafjöll Mountain Range.
For a smooth and memorable ride, we use the best snowmobiling equipment on the market. Our snowmobiles are Polaris IQ LXT 550 CC and Lynx Adventures 600 CC.
